Smells like burned petroleum oil. Strong chemical taste.
This is the 6th shilajit resin I’ve tried in about a year, so I’m not a total newbie. As much as I’d love to give this good size container a great review, I cannot.The thick tarry goo smells like burned / overheated petroleum products. Even a dab on the tongue was horribly bad, with a strong and lingering chemical/motor oil type flavor unlike any of the prior 6 brands. The texture is similar to a couple of the others: thick, tarry, slightly liquid at room temperature, and very sticky.IMO, it’s got to be very low grade if it even is shilajit as all the others were almost pleasant, if not actually tasty compared to this product, which smells and tastes toxic.NO way I’ll be ingesting this one. I’d give it a minus 1 star if I could.

I’ve been using shilajit for several years after reading about its purported health benefits; especially claims it can boost testosterone. Its a very thick resin from high altitudes and is said to be from decayed plant matter. I disolve mine into a cup of coffee or hot tea. The taste isnt thrilling, but I’ve gotten used to it and actually dont mind the taste at all. As far as seeing or feeling actual health benefits, I cant honestly say I have noticed any difference in my health though it felt like I was getting a small boost of energy if taken in the afternoon in my hot drink.

Do not like the taste
This is our first and only attempt at using shilajit resin. My husband suffers with chronic fatigue and will try almost anything if it would help him have even some improvement. This jar arrived with tiny print on the box and even more miniscule print on the label. After using a magnifying glass to read it I discovered that there are absolutely no usage or dosage instructions (except that there are 100 servings per container). So, back to the product listing for the information we need in order to use it. It says to use the included spoon to scoop a small amount (nothing precise) into a drink. We both think this tastes terrible, but maybe that’s how it’s supposed to taste? Unfortunately we can’t say that it gave us any more energy, clarity, or less pain, since we just hate the taste too much to use it. Admittedly I haven’t tried using it in other foods as suggested on this product page, but I would have no idea how much to use and I wouldn’t want to go to the trouble and use up ingredients to make something only to ruin it by adding this tar.

Strong, thick resin but is authentic and effective
This form of the resin will not be from everyone. The smell and taste are quite intense. The serving size seems to be a spoonful with the included spoon. I dip the spoon into the resin and it comes out coated. I give it a little spin to eliminate any threads, it is very thick and does not come off the spoon. I tried mixing it in water but there was no mixing and doesn’t really want to come off the spoon. Scraping it off the spoon into the water gets it in the glass but there was no dissolving. I just take it straight by the spoonful. The smell and taste are beyond intense but not bad. Initially, I thought it was super bitter but it isn’t actually bitter, just strong. I usually have a little something to eat or drink afterwards to start reducing the strong taste more quickly. So why go through that experience? My energy level does seem to go up after taking it each day.

This is definitely a below par product. I’ve tried 4 or 5 different products but this is the only product that was runny. I had 2 different products side by side and 1 wouldn’t budge but this could be poured out of the jar.The taste is incredibly bad, imagine a ashtray that hasn’t been emptied for weeks. Shilajit doesn’t have the best taste but nothing has ever tasted this bad!Would not even think about purchasing again.
