For Those Looking for Energy Drink Alternatives
My doctor told me to watch my sodium intake due to my blood pressure. That opened a WHOLE can of worms. It floored me to see how much sodium is in foods I considered to be “daily.” I also have been trying to limit my sugar intake for years. PureBoost has been a perfect replacement for my energy drink routine. I drop from 400 mg to 70 just by switching products. If I find myself craving that “energy drink bite,” I just shake one of these into one bottle of water, two squirts of lemon juice and carefully mix the other half with carbonated water. Gives me a little foam to deal with but it’s pretty damn close to matching that old ritual. Thanks for everything, PB. A reliable and tasty alternative to a habit I’ve had for over twenty years.

Decent taste with reasonable effectiveness
I have health issues and do not sleep well and have not for a long time. Therefore, I typically am fatigued, but there are things I need to do and can use a boost of energy. Using sugar is a bad idea: there will be a crash and it’s not healthy. (I also am a former diabetic, Type 2, so don’t want to up risk foolishly). Am caffeine sensitive so it will tend to make me even more “awake” many hours later when I need to be able to sleep. Decided that likely I needed certain nutrients replenished at times and prefer foods or something close to them, so thought I’d give this product a go. Bought the red and the green combo. I prefer the red. There is an aftertaste/artificial sweetness taste to it, but it’s not overpowering or really bad, just something I notice. The green tends to “taste healthy” to me, if you get what I’m saying; the red is a bit more like a normal drink. Been blessed to get these on Lightning Deals so price is not cheap to me, but not outrageous. That is why though giving 4 stars on taste and value, the product gets a 5 as so many things do not seem to give me any increase in energy, at least none that will last even an hour. This performs better than many products I’ve tried. Am a bit disappointed in the use of cyanocobalamin in the product instead of methylcobalamin.

Mixed feelings:
Let’s start with the driver behind my purchase. I’m simply looking for drink mixes that taste good. I typically drink between 6 to 8 glasses of water a day, and I like to mix it up a bit because water and coffee all day, every day does get a bit boring.I was extremely skeptical of this one primarily because of the price, and the price is part of the consideration behind my rating. At the same time, of all of the drink mixes I have tried, the ones I like the best are the energy drinks. I have a feeling that it’s the flavor of Taurine or something. I do know that I love the flavor of aspartame, but that’s a different conversation.The problem is, all of the energy drink mixes I have tried except one have a price that is too high for me to consider it being a regular alternative. This product fits into that category. It’s price is too high for it to be a regular staple.I tried the orange first, because I tend to find the citrus energy drinks to have the best flavor. It was a lot better than I expected. The texture is a little gritty, which is something I don’t like, but I could see this becoming a regular if the price was a bit lower.Then, I tried the grape. Wow. This even tastes better. We still have a gritty texture, but I would choose the grape over the orange in a heartbeat.Then I tried the red one. I was expecting the least out of the red one. I will go on record as saying that the red one tasted amazing.So I decided to order some of the green stuff, as many of the reviews had a lot of positive things to say about it. My impression of the green stuff isn’t high. I think “disgusting” would be a proper adjective for the green stuff. With the red stuff, the gritty texture was easy to overlook because the flavor was so good. With the green stuff, the horrid flavor combined with the gritty texture made it extremely difficult to swallow. There is no way I can make it through an entire glass of this stuff. I tasted and felt like I was drinking liquified kale mixed with crushed chalk. I have a friend who likes kale. I guess I’m going to find out if he likes chalk.The one other drawback that I can see is that the stuff doesn’t dissolve very well, and that’s a huge problem for me. I like to use the same glass all day, and if you start the morning off with one of these, you’re going to need to use a different glass for your next beverage. The additional problem is that the last swallow or two tends to be a doozy. This is the point where I realized that the green stuff wasn’t going to cut it. I physically gagged on that last swallow and had to spit it out because my swallowing functions failed me.So I have mixed feelings about this. I would rate the green stuff at one star. I would rate the rest as four stars. I couldn’t give it five stars due to the price combined with the fact that it won’t completely dissolve.
